TV Actress Divya Bhatnagar’s Death Unravels Abuse By Husband.
The year 2020 has single-handedly taken away a lot from us. Millions of lives, peace of mind, for a lot of people their livelihoods and any remaining semblance to normalcy that we had before that. And among that and those who we’ve lost, is also a much loved TV actress Divya Bhatnagar, who has recently lost her life to the deadly coronavirus in Mumbai.
The distressing news of the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor came on Monday and left quite a few people from the industry in shock and remorse. But what left them and us absolutely terrified, were the claims that were made after that, and accused her husband Gagan Gabru, of treating the late actor with brutality. Divya’s friend Devoleena Bhattacharjee made several allegations that Divya was often subjected to violence in her marriage.
Devoleena revealed these facts over an emotional video she had posted on social media, where she got teary eyed and said, “I’m making this video because I have to talk about the mental stress and physical abuse that she had to suffer, and the man who is responsible for it.” She went on to directly blame Gagan and remarked, “I am talking about you, Gagan Gabru. You posted that Divya’s mother and brother were against your relationship, and that they were getting publicity because of you. Who are you? You are nothing. You came here and begged for her acceptance. I cut off ties with her for four years because of you. Who are you to give publicity, I’ll give you publicity now.”

In addition to this, Divya’s brother Devashish also came forward to reveal that she had left behind a note in which she wrote in details about the abuse she suffered in her marriage at the hands of her husband. He said, “Gagan started torturing Divya physically and mentally soon after their marriage. She had written a note on November 7, in which she had stated that Gagan tortures and abuses her. We found the note in her cupboard yesterday. She had also approached the police and filed an NC on November 16 against him, following an episode of domestic abuse. I had told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her during her hospitalisation.”
Statements of both Devashish and Devoleena corroborate the allegations levelled against Gagan Gabru of manipulation and abuse. At the moment, Devoleena has filed an NC against Gagan and also promised to bring proofs and hence prove the allegations against him to give justice to Divya.
