#Trending : World’s First Private Icebreaker Yacht Is Ready To Set Sail This Year. There Will Be No Titanic Moments On This One

For all of us who screamed “Happy new year” at midnight while welcoming the year 2020 and pinned all of our hopes for travel and adventure on this one, I know it’s not surprise but we have been played. We got duped into having the worst year of our lives instead. Where once we imagined ourselves to be soaring new heights and embark upon unchartered territories, we are now only barely getting out and the most height we’ve soared is when we are cleaning our fans. And unless you’re a billionaire with a private yacht at your disposal, we are all in it together. But if you’re a billionaire…

Russian billionaire banker, Oleg Tinkov, has recently purchased La Datcha, the world’s first private icebreaker yacht and set it out for adventurous expeditions, are not only just kicking this year’s butt but also making big bucks off of it. The 77-meter icebreaker yacht is being built as a part of Damen’s SeaXplorer series in the Netherlands and is planned for delivery in autumn 2020, roughly priced at a whopping $112 million.

Named the La Datcha, this icebreaker is allegedly capable of travelling to destinations that are almost otherwise impossible to uncover by usual luxury yachts. This one can house 12 guests in addition to the crew and has two helicopter hangars, a dive center, and decompression chamber, and carries a submersible, two snow scooters and wave-runners. Basically equipping you to be the new Batman on sea. The luxury yacht can set sail for up to 40 days and also capable of hitting speeds of 14.5 knots, all the while being able to cut through thick 40 centimeters of snow, thereby living upto being an actual ice breaker. What this essentially means is that when you’re on this, you don’t have to have a Titanic moment. This will cut through the ice. Of course, just for feels, you could hire Celine Dion to make your heart go on.

The Russian billionaire, Oleg Tinkov plans to spend up to 20 weeks a year on the yacht, but has also announced to rent it out to others for the right price, which in this case is close to  $846,000 per week, which in Indian currency is no less than 6 crores. Guess recession hasn’t hit sea yet!

Providing every world class amenity to the people, La Datcha has every facility you could dream of, from fully-equipped gym to a jacuzzi and observation lounge. It may not be the Titanic, but it isn’t any less magnificent, especially since Tinkov suggests, “It is yachting, but a completely different one.” He also said, “It’s about exploring, but not about drinking a martini and showing off in Saint-Tropez,” and looking at the beast, we know exactly what he means by that.

To be showcased at the global yacht show in Monaco in 2020 and then set sail to the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles and Madagascar, moving on to Russia’s scenic Kamchatka peninsula and Alaska, before testing its icebreaker status in Antarctica in late 2021 and the beginning of 2022, seems like this yacht is ready to take off into the wild and set on the greatest journey one can, in 2020 no less!
