Shweta Tiwari Says Her Daughter Bought Makeup Worth Lakhs Of Rupees, And Says She Now Wants A Son. Maybe Give Your Daughter A Budget?

The most expensive thing that my parents have ever bought me while growing up, would probably be a watch or piece of jewelry that mother had every  intention of keeping aside for when I get married. But even then, it never cost them an unreasonable amount. Not because they would say no, well not just that, but also because my parents were very keen on teaching me just how difficult it was to earn money. And now that I work myself, I totally  understand where they’d come from. Something that I can still say about myself, but not so much for the TV actress Shweta Tiwari and her daughter, Palak Tiwari.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, as the actress Shweta Tiwari recalls celebrating her daughter Palak’s 16th birthday, she shares how her daughter ended up buuying make-up  worth Rs. 1.8 lakhs. Yes, you heard that right. Just makeup worth lakhs of rupees, when she was in class 10th. She said, “On her 16th birthday, she went and shopped for like 1 lac 80 thousand worth of makeup.”

Adding more, she also shared, “Such expensive products, ek ek eyeshadows iske 7-7 hazaar 8-8 hazaar ke…I called my family and said, ‘It’s time! I want a son’ I cannot afford so much. I cannot have another daughter.” And honestly, we couldn’t relate whatsoever. Neither with how as a parent she could let her 16 year old daughter order such expensive  or actually, any makeup, and nor with how it had anything to do with having a daughter instead of a son.

We get it, when kids are born with a  silver spoon in their mouth, they almost always grow up to have expensive taste and habits, but it is upto the parents to keep them in check and set a limit till which the kids can push against. Who is to say, had she had a son, he wouldn’t be leveraging his mother’s love and credit card to buy himself shoes or jackets or even a car worth more than he should spending!

Which is why, when Shweta Tiwari talked about wanting a son next and not a daughter, for she couldn’t afford one, we think the only change she really needed was in her thinking and the credit limit she lets her kids use. And if not, then there is always more where that came from!
