Disha Patani’s Saree Is Very *Nanga* In Bharat’s Song And We Have A Problem With It

Bollywood item numbers have long been considered as eye candy for movie audiences heading to see blockbuster projects. These are carefully created with catchy music and a scintillating female lead to get attention and maybe go viral in the process. How do they do that? Usually with suggestive lyrics and bizarre outfits that border on downright ridiculous. Since it’s fodder for Indian audiences, the outfits are designed around some form of an ethnic staple like a saree or a lehenga.

The newest iteration of comical item song barbs is the yellow monstrosity on Disha Patani in the newest Bharat song release Slow Motion. Before we say anything else, check it out for yourself.

First of all, where is the saree? Because we don’t see it. First of all, it’s sheer.  So sheer that we can see Disha’s boy shorts through them. Which isn’t any kind of sexy. It’s downright tacky. As someone wise said in another movie, ‘Band karo havas ka yeh nanga naach’. Secondly. what is that pallu? It’s stripped off of all its charm with this kind of a drape. The pallu is twisted into ropes and the skirt pleats are tucked in real low into the very visible boys shorts. Aesthetics have been done away with completely. The song involves a lot of boob thrusting which we see Disha do but honestly, we’re so done we couldn’t bear to get through the song that’s an assault to our eyes.

The saree is one of the sexiest garments on a woman, it does not have to be dismantled like this to be hotter. Even the backup dancers are in some form of ugly bandeau and lungi outfit, why? If you need an example, remember Raveena Tandon in Tip Tip Barsa Paani? How hot what she? And there weren’t crazy amounts of skin show also.
