Bharat Releases Its Teaser And It’s Underwhelming

Actor Salman Khan’s upcoming film Bharat released its teaser today. And given that everyone was waiting for a sneak-peek into this talked-about-film, the teaser hasn’t given us much at all.

It starts with Salman’s monologue, where he talks about how his name and personality is not confined by his caste, religion or belief. It is named after this nation’s name, Bharat. The monologue ends with Khan telling us that he cannot put a surname in front of such a big name. The teaser is compelling, but only just.

There were no glimpses of the female leads – Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani – in the teaser trailer. This movie does seem like everything a Salman Khan movie is about – “I, me and myself” to say in his words.Although the trailer assures us action, drama and an underlying social message, we still have to see how the women fit in.

Apparently, this movie is a remake of a Korean film, and if we’re lucky, Salman Khan will do justice to the plot. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat is planned to release on Eid this year. Let’s hope we get a few more glimpses of the film before that.
