Adele Revealed How A Self-Help Book Helped Her Find Her Freedom Post Weight Loss Transformation. You’d Want To Get Your Hands On This One

They say a book can change your life in many ways. It’s actually pretty true. Books can be more than just a companion and a friend when you want to escape reality. They could be the best life-coach you could ever have that guide you to the right path and truly transform you as a person, if you let them. As a self-proclaimed bookworm, I can vouch for it. And, as it turns out, so can British singer and songwriter Adele, who made headlines for her incredible transformation and seven-stone weight loss a few months ago.

Adele revealed that apart from the workout and diet, it was actually a book that helped her turn her life around and completely changed her. She took to her Instagram account to reveal that the secret behind her buzz-making weight loss and coping up with the confusion and stress post it was a self-help book named Untamed: Stop Pleasing, Start Living by Glennon Doyle.

Adele posted a snapshot of the book’s cover and wrote a long caption on how it helped her find her freedom and happiness. She wrote, “If you’re ready – this book will shake your brain and make your soul scream. I am so ready for myself after reading this book! It’s as if I just flew into my body for the very first time. Whew! Anyone who has any kind of capacity to truly let go and give into yourself with any kind of desire to hold on for dear life – Do it. Read it. Live it. Practice it.”

She also asked her readers to invest in this book to find their own joy and freedom. Adele also hinted that this is one book she’d be returning to her entire life. “We are a lot! But we are meant to be a lot! .. ‘A good life is a hard life!’ Read this book and have a highlighter on hand to make notes because you’ll want to refer back to it trust me! I never knew that I am solely responsible for my own joy, happiness and freedom!! Who knew our own liberation liberates those around us? Cause I didn’t!!” she continued in the post.

Adele stumped everyone when she posted a photo of herself on her birthday back in May where she looked unrecognisable. She had lost almost 50 pounds (20 kg) in a matter of a year. That post made me guilty personally as I couldn’t pull off even one week of workout in months of lockdown. The 32-year-old singer, on the other hand, reportedly ditched toxic foods and sugar, alcohol and cigarettes and followed the Sirtfood diet for a year to get in shape.

Being a celebrity, it must have been pretty overwhelming for Adele during and post weight loss, since the topic of her drastic transformation was up for discussion on social media as soon as she put up her photo. The scrutiny and questions revolving how she did it completely sidelined the fact that she was finally healthy and happy. She said that the book made her realise that she was not entitled to feel selfless and disheveled but was worthy and capable of loving herself. She went on to write in the post, “I thought we were meant to be stressed and disheveled, confused and selfless like a Disney character!”

She ended the post praising the author and said, “You’re an absolute don Glennon.”

It’s a pep talk, inspiration and life experiences all wrapped in one tiny book. No wonder the popstar credits it for discovering her liberation and a sense of freedom post her weight loss journey.
