The Best-Selling Concealer That Everyone Needs In Their Life!
If you’re a bonafide beauty junkie, you know the pain of finding a concealer that’s a perfect match for your skin. What’s more, it has to hide all the things you’re not happy about and should be affordable enough to keep repurchasing every month or so. And while there are some great concealers out there, the drugstore purchase I’m totally loving right now is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. (Phew! That’s quite a mouthful!)
Honestly, there’s a damn good reason why this brightening concealer is such a hit with beauty junkies globally: it really does such a great job of brightening tired eyes. The liquid formulation is super easy to swipe on your under-eye area, but the downside of the sponge-tip applicator is that it takes quite a few twists to get the product up to the surface.
Also, a little goes a long way with this product, so be sure not to put on too much. Then blend really well — I find using a damp BeautyBlender is perfect for this particular product — and don’t forget to set it with a powder. This will ensure that the product lasts really long and doesn’t get cakey or settle into fine lines.
Now on to whether it’s really as good as everyone says it is: I have to say yes! I have dark circles on very fair skin, and this concealer does a really good job of hiding them and also subtly highlights the area. Refreshed and radiant eyes? Check!
The super concentrated formula contains goji berry and Haloxyl, which supposedly help to “treat” dark circles, reduce puffiness, and diminish fine lines. Now I have a hard time believing that any concealer can reduce the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles — you really must use a specialist eye care product for that — but it does do a great job as a makeup product.
The texture is creamy and the consistency is thin and light, which makes blending super easy. I got a good 7 hours of wear out of it, but I would recommend that you moisturise really well to ensure smooth application (I feel it gets a little dry over the course of the day). The coverage is medium to high, and like I said, a little goes a long way so use sparingly.
Overall, it’s a really great drugstore concealer for everyday wear and “erases” dark circles with ease!
