#HauteSounds: Taylor Swift’s New Song Is All About Getting Even!

The MTV Video Music Awards last night saw some major moments that will go down in the history of music. But, the most epic one has to be the launch of Taylor Swift’s first song from her album, Reputation.

Look What You Made Me Do hit our ears 3 days ago but the essence of the song was completed only a few hours ago when the video of the same was revealed. Oh, and what a visual treat it was!

We see Taylor literally rise from the dead, as she also claims in the song, and reveal a side of herself we’ve never seen before. In a bathtub full of diamonds, roaming around with a Cheetah, in a biker gang and so on. The imagery is bold, but for fans, it will be a hard dose to swallow.

To give you a back story, the song is a direct hit to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West after the whole ‘Famous-gate’ scandal that took place last year. Basically, West had jokingly claimed in the Life of Pablo song, “I made that bitch famous,” talking about Swift. As expected, she took offense and called him out publicly. Kim later, in a series of Snapchat videos, revealed a conversation between Kanye and Taylor that prove that Swift had given permission for those lyrics.

Anyhoo, cut to a year later, Swift is out with this song and album that clearly reeks of revenge! With lyrics that say, I don’t trust nobody and nobody trusts me, screams ‘payback’ and how!

In fact, at the end of the video, you see all her old personas together and we have to believe that our sweet ol’ Taylor is gone!

This video and song is unlike Taylor Swift, and die-hard fans will have to take it with a pinch of salt. But for club owners and DJs, here’s another new track to groove to. Yup, I’ve to admit, I did shake a leg while writing this piece.
