Woman Gives Birth To Non-Identical Twins After Getting Pregnant With Another Child While She Was Already Pregnant.
While our parents might not ever talk to us how babies are conceived, at some point, we all figure it out. After two people have sex, if a sperm manages to fertilise an egg inside the woman’s uterus, a baby is conceived inside a woman’s womb. But what most of us, including this couple from Britain didn’t know was that a child can also be conceived while a woman is still pregnant with another child. An incident that was recently reported after a couple experienced a rare and miraculous condition known as ‘superfetation’.
Described as a condition where another egg is released and fertilised when someone is already pregnant, the chances of this happening are as low as 0.3%. And the chances of the second child to stay alive during such a pregnancy are even lower. But striking against all odds was Noah, the infant who was born along with his twin sister, Rosalie.
Rebecca Roberts, the woman in question was already pregnant with Rosalie, her daughter, when she and her partner found out that another egg had been fertilised, leading them to conceive Noah, simultaneously. Technically twins, but three weeks apart, both the babies have been born healthy.
The rare phenomenon is known as superfetation – and it recently happened to Rebecca Roberts from Bath. https://t.co/eiwgQGUCwU

As per the report shared by Metro.co.uk report, Rebecca and her partner are some of the only and very few parents in the world who have welcomed both babies through superfetation. The babies were born on September 17 at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, and while Noah was rather tiny in size as compared to his sister Rosalie, with 95 days of intense care and love, he is now stronger as ever.
Recalling the time when she found out about her being pregnant again, Rebecca shared, “I had two previous scans which showed Noah, she must have just been embedded. I had just been having a conversation with the sonographer about my previous scan so she was aware that I was only having one baby so she was so silent, I thought something awful had happened because she didn’t say anything.”
She went on to say, “Then she looked at me and said did you know you’re expecting twins. My heart skipped a beat, I actually said to her is his real?” And it was. “It was a massive shock finding out about the twins so we waited until they were born to find out about their gender,” said Rebecca. She is now the healthy mother of two equally healthy and happy babies, letting us all know that miracles happen around in the world, all the time!
