Virat Kohli’s Sporty Gesture Has Wifey Anushka Sharma All Mushy And We Can’t Get Enough

So you know the ICC Cricket World Cup is going on, right? It is. And yesterday, India played Australia in a fun match, the outcome of which was entirely predictable. The entire stadium in London was coloured blue, with the odd speck or two of yellow, so it was obvious that we hold the game of cricket pretty close to our hearts. It was a match where India did pretty well, looking in control, practically from the word ‘go’. Now with so many supporters for the Indian team, there was plenty to celebrate. But not all was hunky-dory. Things got a little messy when Steve Smith was on the field and the crowd started booing him. This was because Steve was back in the game after a year’s suspension for ball tampering.

With India fans giving Steve Smith a tough time fielding in the deep, @imVkohli suggested they applaud the Australian instead.

Yes, it was unruly and rude. But Virat Kohli moved in and asked the crowd to stop being this way and instead encouraged them to clap for him instead. Now this was a gesture of sportsmanship that got praise from all quarters for being a ‘true ambassador of the game’. And while it’s really great that everyone has said this is amazing, it was Virat’s wife Anushka Sharma’s Insta story that had us going aww.

 

The Pari actress put up an Insta story about the incident saying ‘Aggressive player, benevolent man. So easy to love’. And we think it’s so cute. Anushka Sharma is often spotted in the stands supporting her husband as he plays his game. However, she’s not been spotted in England during the recent matches of India. But clearly, nothing has to come in the way of love, especially in the digital age and her story is proof.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma’s last movie Zero tanked at the box office, but the actress is looking forward to her upcoming projects. The 31-year-old actress’s next movie, possibly Kaneda is slated for release some time this year. Both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma do indulge in digital PDA quite often and fans can’t get enough of it. Right now though, we are so feeling this love that they are showing each other.
