UP Man Walks Around With His Daughter’s Head After Chopping It Off. His Reason Is Appalling
It’s been more than 2 years since I have been covering crime stories. A big part of journalism, besides keeping the audiences up to date with the horrors of this country, is to grow a thick skin to cases that emerge every day. And while every case strikes a nerve and invokes a sense of disgust, fear and anger, this one in particular did more than just that. It shook me to my core and in an instant, made me want to vanish from the face of the earth, before a similar fate befalls me. This is after we came across the news of a man beheading her own daughter and walking the streets with her head in his hand.
An appalling incident that took place in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, left the residents of that village in a state of shock and disbelief after they spotted a man calmly walking down the road with the severed head of his 17-year-old daughter.
Spotted on the road, walking without an ounce of regret or remorse, the man was reported to the police by one of the by-standers as they took notice of Sarvesh Kumar heading down the road in Pandetara village. A sight that the residents would never be able to unsee, the details of the case are as bone-chilling as probably the heart of the father who did this to his own daughter.

Taken into custody by two officers, one of whom filmed the capture, the police asked the guy whose head was he carrying around, and turns out the sick criminal didn’t flinch even for a second before replying to them. The video has captured the man admitting to the fact that he indeed cut his own daughter’s head with a sharp tool. Reason? He was unhappy with the relationship she had with a man.
Apparently the cost of a woman’s life in this country means nothing and butchering her like a farm animal is seeminly okay. The fact that a father would go to such demonic lengths to express his disapproval is beyond inhuman. He says in the video, “I did it. There was no one else. I closed the latch and did it. The body is in the room.”

When asked to keep the head down, he did so without any sign of protest. Kapil Deo Singh, a police officer from Hardoi elaborated on the matter as he said, “A person named Sarvesh killed his teenaged daughter and was spotted carrying her severed head on the road. We intercepted him as soon as we received information about it and have taken him into custody. We have also taken serious note of a photo which shows a police official carrying her head inappropriately. The cop has been suspended.”
The entire incident has sent down ripples of shock in everyone, especially since this isn’t the first time a father has been booked for killing his own daughter(s). The idea that parents now feel entitled to take the life of their children, without hesitation at that, is frightening. We hope the man is handed a strict punishment.
Women need to be allowed to live life on their own terms, without the fear of being murdered instead. Seems like women have yet again been failed by the society.
