This Woman Baked A Cake To Celebrate One Year Of The Construction Of A Street Construction. This Has To Be The First Time..

Anniversaries in my own opinion are greatly underrated. Not in the sense that they aren’t celebrated enough, especially since we see even teenagers marking month-old relationships with a grand party these days, but in the way that they aren’t taken too seriously. The over-celebration of anniversaries, has taken away from the joy that comes when something dear to your heart has completed a period of time. The kind of joy that came to this woman from New Orleans, who decided to mark the one year of construction of a street near her house.

A first of its kind, a woman from New Orleans, Louisiana, named Natalie Naquin Harvey recently made rounds on social media, after she decided to celebrate a one year anniversary of a street construction. Here we were, thinking only people and relations needed to be celebrated, but in comes Natalie with her gratitude for a street near her house that has us rolling on our sides.

As bizarre an incident as it was hilarious, Natalie celebrated the big day with a cake specially made for the occasion that was baked as a scene of construction from the time when the road was actually being made.

Putting up a proper post with a heartfelt dedication to the road, she wrote, “Happy first birthday to our street construction.” The post was accompanied with two pictures of Natalie posing with the cake, sitting on the very street that she was celebrating. And while we couldn’t quite relate, we were thrilled to see her enthusiasm.

The post further read, ” It was one year ago this week when they first began to rip up our street. One year later, half the street is impassable — just last week, we had a massive, 6-foot-deep hole! To celebrate, I created a replica of the street scene in cake form: two layers of chocolate sponge with peanut butter frosting.” The post garnered over 1.2k likes and 935 shares in record time as it struck a chord with a lot of users, who could relate to her woes.

One user even picked apart the cake and pointed out, “The best part of this cake is the depiction of 1 man working while the others stand around and watch. You’re my hero.”

Guess, at the end of the day it is just about what is it in your life that you feel is worth appreciating and being grateful for. Of course the roads and pothole situation in India is far from being celebration-worthy, but the day BMC decides to give us clean and smooth roads, rest assured we would be posing with cakes too! Till then, Municipal corporations if you are tuning in, it’s a good time to give us roads instead of big ass potholes..
