This Mom Was Not Amused With The Unwanted Gift Her Mother-In-Law Gave Her Son And She Has Now Plotted Hilarious Revenge. We Can’t Wait
How many times has it happened to you that you’ve got a gift that’s totally useless or so absurdly annoying that it adds to your troubles? Many, I am sure. I once got roller skates for my birthday and here’s why it was bad. I was 17, I didn’t ask for it, plus, it needs lessons; who’s gonna foot that bill? But obviously I smiled and pretended to be excited to get it, mostly because my mom was signalling from the background to look like I loved it. But clearly that’s not the case for everyone, especially if you are a mum of three and your kid gets a huge tent to make noise in all day, when you actually asked for a book.
An Australian parenting blogger and mom, Mel Watts didn’t keep mum when her MIL gifted an oversized tent to her youngest son, Sonny, for whom she had suggested a book as a gift. She posted the picture of her kids in the tent and penned down a hilarious rant on how her mother-in-law is always getting the kids gifts that ‘nobody asks for’. She was not amused with her MIL’s gift-giving habits and more so, ignoring her suggestions.
She captioned the post, “Yep. Here is what no one requested for their birthday. I mean it’s similar to a book right?! “Every time I suggest something she [mother-in-law] triples it in size and noise level. I know why, her son was an absolute w**k job as a kid – She’s paying him back which in turn makes me pay. “So here is the oversized super cheap tent she had to order for him that no one asked for. However Sonny thinks it’s the bees knees!”

She has also thought of a great plan to take revenge from her mother-in-law. She went on to write in the post, “I can’t wait for nanny day… all the kids will get a shot of Red Bull and a face full of face paint. How’s your white leather lounge looking now Trish?” Erm, good luck grandma!
The post has garnered 3.5k likes till now. Insta moms felt her pain and reacted to the post saying they can relate hard. One user wrote sharing her experience, “We went through a stage that every time my kids went to my MILs house she would take the kids shopping and let them buy whatever they wanted. Every time my son came home with the biggest toy gun he could find, I started getting so pissed off and I would get anxious about sending them there that I just stopped for a while. (She also have my son a crooked very short fringe cut once without asking) seriously though… why do they do these things?”
Another mum commented, “I learnt very quickly everyone in my family was told if it makes a mess GOES TO YOUR HOUSE, if its way to noisy (recorder!!!!) GOES TO YOUR HOUSE!!!! and if its over sized then you have fun packing it up moving TO YOUR HOUSE!!!!!! not ungrateful promise just my sister would get an evil giggle when talking about what she would buy my kids.”
While the mom is obviously pissed, the kids look happy. Now we are wondering how her diabolical plan on ‘Nanny day’ will pan out. Hope Mel posts a picture of that too.
