This Man Kicked His Wife To Death And Then Blamed It On A Goat. Domestic Violence Is Getting Out Of Hand

A lot of people have called domestic violence the shadow pandemic. We completely agree. In the last few months, while everyone was focusing solely on COVID, the cases of violence against women have risen drastically. Every few weeks we have one horrifying case. I don’t know how many of you’ll remember but 6 months ago, a man in Kerala used a snake to murder his wife because he wanted more dowry money. Why do women always have to bear the brunt? Even in the case we are discussing today, which incidentally occurred in the same place, a man murdered his wife and then blamed it on an animal  (a goat in this case) in an attempt to pass it off as an accident. Ugh, it’s just so sickening.

29-year-old Asha succumbed to her injuries in Kollam, Kerala. Her husband, 36-year-old Arun tried to play it off as an accident. He told everyone that Asha had been kicked in the stomach by their goat while they were out grazing. But as murky details of this tragic event emerged, it became increasingly clear that this was no accident. The plot kept thickening.

After receiving the fatal blow to her stomach, Asha was rushed, in a critical condition, to the private medical college hospital at Meeyannoor. Arun had told everyone that she had fallen off a rock after their goat kicked her down when she took it there for grazing. And while this would’ve been believable, hours before her death, in excruciating pain, Asha managed to tell her parents, George and Shobha, that, “It wasn’t the goat that hit me”. Eventually, thanks to her statement, a police investigation was launched into the matter and Arun was arrested.

According to reports, Arun was an alcoholic who would often start quarrels and beat Asha up. According to the police, Arun was drunk and picked a fight with Asha. He kicked her in the stomach and she fainted on the spot. As her condition worsened, she was hospitalized and, not wanting to assume responsibility, Arun spun the tale of the goat kicking her. He also told their two sons to tell everyone that their goat kicked their mother. This is just shameful.

Upon investigating, the police found holes in the story and eventually Arun was arrested for his crime.

We really need stricter laws that combat domestic violence. Asha died because her drunkard husband beat her to death. The worst part is that there are hundreds of women who share this exact story. Besides, we aren’t surprised that Arun tried to blame a goat instead of taking responsibility for his actions. It’s horrific and disgusting.
