This Man Drove His Pregnant Wife 1,200 kms On A Scooter So She Could Appear For An Exam. We Love Everything About This

The show Indian Matchmaking, as ridiculous as it was, got me thinking about what qualities I want in my future partner. After giving it a lot of thought and daydreaming about this a lot, I realised that I am not high maintenance but probably just as stubborn as Aparna was. I would like my future partner to be well-groomed, stable, spontaneous and outdoorsy. But none of that matters if he isn’t loyal and supportive. Obviously, without these two qualities, no healthy relationship will flourish.

Today, I have a heartwarming story to share with you’ll. It’s about a man who drove his pregnant wife thousand’s of kilometres just so that she could appear for an exam. This is the perfect example of what a supportive and loving relationship looks like.

You see, this man from Jharkhand, Dhananjay Kumar, wanted to help his wife, Soni Hembram, pursue her dream of being a teacher. But when travelling to another state to take the DEd (Diploma in Education) exam became difficult and expensive, he decided to drive her from Jharkhand to Madhya Pradesh on his two-wheeler.

Their arduous journey spanned over 1,200 km and 4 states. But no amount of potholes, pouring rain or virus deterred him to help and support his wife. They drove from Ganta Tola village in Godda district of Jharkhand to reach Gwalior, where there is a centre for the DEd examination.

Dhananjay today PTI that since buses or any other mode of transport was unavailable, he decided to drive his wife. He said that initially, his wife, who is pregnant, was sceptical but after seeing his determination, she agreed to this plan of travelling by road.

A video of them travelling was made by a local newsperson and it went viral. This prompted the district administration to help them out. Dhananjay said that they did not take a taxi to Gwalior since it cost them Rs 30,000. Instead, the couple mortgaged some jewellery and raised Rs 10,000 for the journey. Out of which they have spent Rs 5,000.

They started their journey on 28th August and stayed a night in Muzaffarpur (Bihar) and Lucknow. They reached Gwalior on 30th August.

Soni said, “We faced a lot of trouble due to rains. I got a mild fever en route, but now everything is okay. I will apply for a teaching job in Jharkhand and I am sure I will get selected.”

After taking cognisance of this couple’s troubles, Gwalior collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh asked the districts women empowerment officer, Shaleen Sharma to take care of them and also give them Rs 5,000. They will pay the rent and have also offered to send the couple back home to their village safely.

This is honestly so wholesome. After listening to horror stories about men beating their wives up, this is a welcome and refreshing change!

I really wish all men were as nice and supportive as this husband.
