This Guy Staged An Elaborate ‘Princess And The Frog’ Proposal For His Girlfriend. We Can’t Stop Going Awww

(Un)Popular opinion: being single is fun. There is nothing tying you down, no fights, no compromises, no losing sleep wondering if he is cheating and you can totally kiss that sexy stranger you met in the club. However, none of that even holds a candle to waking up next to someone you love. Yes, it’s a cliche (for a reason) but it really is one of the best feelings in the world. It took me two heartbreaks and multiple idiots to realise that as much fun as being single is, being committed to someone is much, much better. Call me a hopeless romantic but despite all odds, I believe in a happily ever after. Huh, maybe I do have an unidealistic sense of romance. Thanks, Bollywood. 

You know what though, more than riding off into the sunset, I believe the steps leading up to that are what count. And what is the one step that has to be picture perfect? The proposal. 

The story I am about to embark on right now is of a proposal that would be on the list of perfect proposal’. If, that were a thing. Like all great proposals, it’s elaborate, well thought out and executed perfectly. I know it sounds like something out of a romantic movie because only they try and oversell proposals this way, but trust me, this one is worth it. And, I don’t know if you picked up on the references, but it involves princesses. Future husband, if you are out there, please take notes.

Meet Blaze, a man from Idaho, US who left no stone unturned to pop the question to his girlfriend, Denise. He planned a super elaborate, wait for it, Princess and the Frog themed proposal that is making all our hearts melt. Oh also, I am the only one who is a little jealous?

Denise works at local party company where often makes appearances at events dressed as Disney Princess Tiana from ‘The Princess and the Frog’. According to a Facebook post shared by a friend of the couple, on 8 July, Denise attended a little girl’s birthday party dressed as Princess Tatiana. 

When she sat down to read the girls the fairytale, she found a handwritten note on the first page. The note read, “Every princess needs a prince – will you be mine forever?” 

The Facebook post read, “As they arrive at the village Denise instantly gets into character, gliding towards the party, posing for photographs with the birthday girl. She is asked to sit down and read them The Princess and the Frog story. She fumbles through the book and finds her story but the first page is a little different than she remembers. Written in sharpie, a special note was left just for her. ‘Every Princess needs a Prince, will you be mine forever?’ – Blaze.”

Shocked, Denise turned to find Blaze, dressed like a prince, already standing there with a ring in his hand. He walked her to the fountain, got down on one knee and popped the question. 

The Facebook post further read, “Yes was the answer! He slips the ring on her finger as she wipes away her tears. They turned to see all their family & friends gathered in front of them screaming and shouting their congratulations. As Blaze perfectly timed it, the hourly water fountain show came on and they danced to Michael Bublè, while their family and friends cried hysterically.” 

When I watched the video, I only thing I could think of was how adorable the whole thing is. I love the element of surprise and the little handwritten note, it was such a nice touch. Also what perfect execution. I watched the video and stared at the pictures to take it all in. 

It’s unbearably cute.
