This Guy Got Offended By JLo And Shakira’s NFL Performance And Called It Porn. We’re Offended By Him
As it happens, and a lot of times at that, women often end up offending a lot of men out there by doing literally nothing at all and sometimes just by even being alive. From having a problem with us being born, to studying to taking up positions of power in society, whenever a woman is seen doing something remarkable or even remotely out of the ordinary, men take it as a cue to shut us down. Because after all, there is only so much that the male ego can take and entertain, without feeling either enticed or challenged. And we say this after a Christian activist recently threatened to seek for a lawyer to sue NFL for debauchery on account of Shakira and JLo’s iconic performance at halftime.
You’d think, that after a performance like theirs in the NFL halftime, there would be only a certain kind of expressions and reactions coming their way, all in awe and appreciation. But you’d be wrong, considering the two iconic singers ended up getting under the skin of a man from Ohio, who has sought to sue NFL, Pepsi and the local cable network by calling their performance no short of ‘porn’.
“Just because of past Super Bowls, knew what it was gonna be like and didn’t wanna let that spirit come into my house. But I viewed some stuff today, I didn’t watch the whole thing but I saw parts of it today… I saw a lot of crotch shots,” he said, after he was questioned about his decision to go against the channel and league here. Claiming to the world that JLo and Shakira have corrupted children, and his own thinking, he said, “I think we ought to go sit down in a courtroom and present this as evidence of how whoever is keeping me from getting into the kingdom of Heaven.”

And all we want to know is how watching a performance by two great singers is equivalent or even capable of sending a man to hell. If anything, it speaks of his own mentality and the fact that even in an entertainment piece, that sought to only engage, lighten up and deliver fun to the crowd could ever be compared to porn, because of their choice of their clothes and moves. And if a performance by two powerful women is going to be an obstacle in what was obviously your way to heaven, we believe he should perhaps, question his own faith. And the deep-rooted misogyny and perverse mindset is just appalling.
Rubbing his own shallow thinking on kids here, as he used them to strengthen his case by saying how their performance was ‘contributing to the delinquency of a minor,’ Dave Daubenmire’s beliefs came across as the perfect example of the patriarchy in the society that still compels people to reduce women to just the roles of seductresses and take anything that they do, as an act of defiance. He even said things like, “I tuned in to watch a football game. I didn’t tune in to watch a porn show,” and continued to talk about how he doesn’t want his daughters to end up learning how to pole dance or twerk, because apparently doing any of that speaks of a woman’s character. Yes it does! It says she’s not taking nonsense from a man like yourself.

Twitter, too, did not take his reaction of wanting to sue the channel and NFL well, and called him out for projecting his own double standards on religion and slammed him for it. As did we, for it is men like him who further misogyny in the society by constantly picking on women and what they wear and blaming them for being provocative.
