This Couple Staring Into Each Other’s Eyes Through Protective Gear Is Just So Beautiful. We’re Not Crying, You Are!

Days are long, times are hard and life seems tough now, more than ever. Coronavirus has us in a vice-like grip, but at home. And it might have caught us off guard and changed the rules of living altogether, but a few things that it has touched yet or managed to corrupt and that is the precious feeling and sentiment of love. A feeling that has managed to withstand such tough and challenging times of unpredictability, love is what is keeping people going, especially for the ones working for us day and night in the hospitals, trying to keep us all safe and sound.

The rest of us found ourselves smiling wide at the kind of positivity this one picture radiateds Driving away our quarantine blues were Ben Cayer and Mindy Brock, two nurse anesthetists who found a moment of passion and love even in the darkest times, as they looked at each other with adoration through protective gear.

Their unusual click, that is now making rounds on the internet has managed to inspire people all over the globe, to hold on to their loved ones in this time, and be glad for the love they have. Ben Cayer, when asked about this well-timed and spontaneous click by a fellow, said, “Everybody’s talking about the photo, because we’re all going through the same thing right now and it’s a symbol of hope and love.” And we agree. Midst such dark and ambiguous days, it really did come across as a symbol of hope and lifted our spirits, it’s not all too bad after all.

Brock added, “What’s important is that we stick together, we work together, and we always support each other. And not just Ben and I, but the human race right now.” This coming from two nurses, fighting on the front line side by side, every day and still having more faith than most of us, is not only encouraging, it is empowering. Lost in our own insecurities, we sometimes forget about what really matters and that is love and hope, both of which are not hard to hold on to, once you start believing!

The Florida-based couple is currently working at Tampa General Hospital in their new “airway team”, where their job entails shouldering the high-risk duty of placing breathing tubes in surgery patients who are suspected to have COVID-19.
