This 93-Year-Old Woman Got 150 Cans Of Beer After Her ‘I Need More Beer’ Pic Went Viral. I’m Putting Up A Sign!
For the longest time, my grandmother couldn’t picture her granddaughter (me) with a glass of beer in her hand. But I have my ways of bringing in change without even having to disrupt the peace at home. At least, in 99.99 % cases. I mean, even condoms and sanitisers don’t give 100% success so let’s not expect too much here. However, I still cannot possibly imagine my naani chugging down alcohol. It’s because we are so used to our grandparents being the mature ones that abstain from vices that we forget that they can be young at heart too. In fact, who said drinking is a “young” thing to do? It’s not us millennials but this 93-year-old granny with the original YOLO philosophy!
A Pennsylvania, US resident, Olive Veronesi’s picture holding a whiteboard by the window that read “I NEED MORE BEER!” went viral last week. The picture was clicked by her family members and I bet they didn’t expect these sudden but really heart-warming turn of events.
She was seen holding a can of Coors Light with literally the cutest smile on her face. What happened next is like a dream for most of us! The picture was shared more than 5 million times and when it reached the authorities at Coors, they decided to deliver 150 cans to Veronesi! How many of you are hoping for a similar miracle to happen to you? Imagine you go to bed, really missing having beer and you wake up to cartons around your bed!

A Molson Coors spokesperson told CNN, “When we saw Olive’s message, we knew we had to jump at the chance to not only connect with someone who brought a smile to our faces during this pandemic, but also gave us a special opportunity to say thanks for being a Coors Light fan.” They added that they would have done it even in non-coronavirus time, “Even in the pre-COVID era, we would’ve been thrilled to fulfill Olive’s request…But in this moment, during these unusual times, bringing a little bit of joy to someone’s day is the least we can do.”
Veronesi had been staying home and practicing self-isolation. She was down to her last 12 cans after having a beer every night. As soon as she got her fresh stock of beer, she opened one right there on her porch and enjoyed it delightfully.

I can totally imagine her feelings. I have been craving beer myself but with the wine shops all shut, I have no chance of getting some. I do have whiskey at home but in this heat, nothing will do except beer. I guess this lockdown is making us abstain from a lot of things.
