This 4-Year-Old Mizo Girl’s Rendition Of Maa Tujhe Salaam Is The Cutest Thing You Will Watch All Day

This morning, I was hanging out on Youtube watching SNL  sketches and Trevor Noah talk about the upcoming elections in the USA. You have to agree that his Trump impressions are surprisingly on point. I have spent a lot of time on Youtube recently but I am not feeling guilty about it considering it’s our primary source of entertainment right now. Anyway, while mindlessly scrolling through I stumbled upon a video that has everyone gushing. It features a 4-year-old Mizo girl singing the song that can give anyone goosebumps, Maa Tujhe Salaam. She is not only the cutest little girl but the way she has sung this A.R. Rehman song is mind-blowing. It’s honestly the cutest thing on the internet right now. Well, apart from the video of the puppy trying to climb stairs. 

Esther Hnamte, from College Veng, Lunglei district of Mizoram is definitely a musical genius in the making. In the video, she is seen hitting the high notes with such ease and perfection. Maa Tujhe Salaam is a song that is considered difficult even by professional singers. It’s almost unbelievable that she is only 4-years-old. At that age, most of us couldn’t even string a full sentence along. Esther is singing A.R. Rehman songs. 

The video features her holding our national flag and also picturesque images of Mizoram. Remind me to add that state to my bucket list, it’s gorgeous. Also, did I mention how cute Esther is? She is like a little singing doll.

At merely 4-years-old Esther has her own YouTube channel where she posts videos of herself singing songs in Mizo, English and Hindi. Since starting her channel earlier this year, Esther has 57,000 subscribers. And this video of Maa Tujhe Salaam that’s going viral has garnered 1,21,000 views. 

Netizens are called this the cutest rendition of Maa Tujhe Salaam and I completely agree. This video really made my day! 

While I was watching 4-year-old Esther sing a song that so close to all our hearts, I couldn’t help but wonder how it is that even today people from our north-eastern states are discriminated against. The racism and prejudice that exists in our country is truly horrifying. Do you remember at the very beginning of the pandemic wave in our country people would throw rocks at them and call them ‘corona’? It’s so sad and wrong. 

That being said, I really hope this adorable little girl drops more video’s like this one soon!
