This 25-Year-Old Woman From Hyderabad Claims She Was Raped By 139 Men Over 10 Years. If Proven False, The Word Of Women Everywhere Will Be Suspect

I am not saying that all men are the same or no man should be trusted but every second day a gruesome rape case comes to light and it doesn’t help us with the trust issues. Of course, not all men are rapists. But differentiating the ones who are from the ones you can blindly trust is one hell of a task. Actually, there is no way you can know for sure until it’s too late. This is precisely why women generalize because when it comes to trusting men, nothing is certain. 

I think I understood this fact when the Nirbhaya case kept me up at night. And it has been reinforced with every following rape case that I came across. In the last few months, we have heard of some extremely brutal cases but they have all been overshadowed. Although, the case I want to talk about today is so horrifying that you won’t be able to look past it, even if you tried.  

You see, a 25-year-old woman claims she was sexually assaulted and raped by 139 men over the last several years. Terrifying to even think about, isn’t it? 

The woman filed a complaint at the Panjagutta police station in Hyderabad. In her 42-page long FIR, she has named several student leaders, politicians, journalists, lawyers and businessmen (among others).

According to her, these sexual assaults began right after in divorce in 2010. In her complaint, she has also stated that her former husband and his family members sexually harassed her. After she got divorced and went to her parent’s house, she finished her studies and from then until now, a total of 139 men have sexually assaulted or raped her. She also claimed that she was tortured by some of them and even has cigarette injuries. 

This woman has been through an unimaginable ordeal. Or should I say, ordeals. 139 men on different occasions raped and torturing this one woman, I almost don’t want to believe this to be true. I think it’s high time that men stop defending themselves and actually put in the work to improve their reputation. This case is absolutely horrifying and if it is proven, it will make up the matter for our worst nightmares. 

The woman says that it took her 10 years to garner enough courage to file this complaint since all the influential people she named in her report were continuously threatening her. That’s understandable. But we are so glad she got fought through and filed this complaint so all the people who ruined her life, can be prosecuted. She said fear and panic were the reasons that she did approach the police for 10 years. 

After lodging the complaint under relevant sections of the IPC, the complainant has been sent for a medical examination. The police are still further investigating this utterly shocking case.

I think this is one of the most hard-hitting and brutal rape cases we have heard of. Although, I am also glad we don’t have any more details than this. I am not sure if I would be able to handle knowing what exactly happened. That being said, I really hope her rapists don’t walk off scot-free and the police understand the gravity of this case and arrest the people responsible, no matter how influential they are.  

Although, I can’t help but wonder what the consequences will be if it’s proven that she filed a false report or the incidents didn’t happen as she has described them. Look, don’t get me wrong I am all for ending violence against women and one of my biggest concerns is increasing rape numbers. But, if it is proved that this woman is lying about those 139 men who she claims sexually assaulted her, it will put the word of all woman at risk. Anyway, women have a tough time when they go to file a complaint on a charge like rape, if she is lying, then it will get much worse. 

I seriously hope this 25-year-old woman is being truthful and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
