Legend and star Rajniknath’s daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth tied the knot with actor and businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi yesterday on 11th February, at the Leela Palace Hotel, Chennai, and her twitter posts are giving us life. Of course, this was a vibrant, colourful wedding, as all Indian weddings go. But this was particularly special in many ways also.

One of the first things, was that this wedding broke the taboos built around divorce and children, in one fell swoop. Soundarya, Rajnikanth’s youngest daughter had earlier married the industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar in 2010, with whom she had a son – Ved, but filed for a divorce in 2016 due to mutual differences. But like they say, love finds us all, and so it did Soundarya. The wedding photos of her and Vishagan show Ved enjoying the festivities while sitting in his mother’s lap during the wedding ceremonies.
