The ‘Mungda’ Remake Is So Disappointing!
Bollywood and remakes are attached at the hip, it seems. If it goes well, the remake is lauded as the next big thing, but, if it bombs, then it receives a stink-fest like no other. ‘Mungda’from the movie ‘Total Dhamaal’ is another remake but it bombed and how!
Sonakshi Sinha, who sizzles in a gold dress and sexy moves, stepped into Helen’s uber-sexy shoes. Now, when it comes to Helen, you’d better be good or at least close to good. Sonakshi is a sweet girl but she has none of Helen’s oomph and obvious sex appeal, quite the opposite, in fact. Sonakshi is the girl-next-door and the only way she’d ever be able to pull off a Helen, is well, she wouldn’t be able to pull –off Helen’s act. And Twitter agrees:

Sonakshi admitted, “Helen aunty’s grace and charm are unmatched and it would be foolish to even try to copy her. Our version is a dance number with spruced-up music, lots of choreography and it’s nothing like the original song.”
When asked how it was to work with Ajay Devgn who shows up in the song for a short appearance, she said “Since this was a dance number, I got the chance to pull Ajay’s leg as he hates dancing but it is always a pleasure working with him.”
Perhaps it’s time Bollywood realizes that some old numbers should be left as is. After all, who could match Helen’s charm! But we can’t blame Sona for trying!
The movie starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Madhuri Dixit, Esha Gupta and Anil Kapoor is set to release on 22nd February.
