The Kerala Woman Who Ran Behind A Bus To Help A Visually-Impaired Man Was Rewarded With A New House. This Is So Heart-Warming

The year 2020 will go down in history as one of the worst years ever. From a pandemic to multiple natural disasters, the universe is working against us. The world, living up to its reputation of being big and bad, is riddled with hatred, misfortunes and despair. What we desperately need right about now is for people to show a little warmth and respect towards others. You remember the moral of every story we have read as children? Selfless kindness is always rewarded.

Having said that, I have some truly positive news for you’ll today. Do you’ll remember the heartwarming video that went viral a few days ago? It showed a Kerala woman running behind a bus to stop it and then helping a visually-impaired man get on board. The video garnered a lot of social media attention and the woman was showered with praises and love for her random act of kindness. That video is proof that despite all the chaos, there is still hope for humanity.

Although what a lot of people don’t know is that the woman in the video, Supriya, actually comes from a very humble background. She is married and has two children. Her husband holds a small job in a private company while Supriya has been a saleswoman Alukkas group for the last three years.

When the video went viral, it caught the eye of Joy Alukkas, the chairman of the Alukkas group. After identifying her as one of his employees, he visited her rented-home to congratulate her. He then asked her to visit the Alukkas head-office in Thrissur the following week because there would be a surprise for her.

During a meeting with Supriya on Wednesday, Joy Alukkas announced that he was rewarding her with a brand-new house. I guess a little kindness does go a long way.

Talking about the occasion, Supriya said, “I never thought it will be such a huge surprise. I was in tears as hundreds of workers of the group cheered me. It was a spontaneous act and I never thought this will fetch me so much of praise and love.” She further added, “ You must have done so much good work and that might have prompted you to do this also. Kindness will flow and never dry in this world’. I was moved by these words of Jolly Alukkas, wife of the chairman.”

You know this whole incident reminds me of a quote from everyone’s favourite fairytale- Cinderella. The quote reads, “Where there is kindness, there is goodness, and where there is goodness, there is magic.”

We are so glad that people are getting recognized for their efforts.
