Don’t Have The Instagram App? You Can Still Upload Pics!
You don’t have to re-read the headline. It’s true. You can now post images on everyone’s (almost) favourite social media site, Instagram without even having the app on your account. Which, till now, was impossible to do.
Instagram has always been about the app, so this update comes as a surprise. While you could scroll through images and search for people on the mobile website, as long as you have an account, uploading pictures was not enabled.
This feature has been introduced to attract more users, with the assumption that less data usage is what they want.
We don’t know how much of a game changer this feature will be, but considering Instagram is a data-heavy app, this might be useful to those who only want to upload images and nothing else. Extra storage space is always welcome, right?
This feature isn’t available on desktops and is only accessible on the mobile site. Stories, DMs, and all the other features that really make this social media app a haven are not available with this update.
Basically, if you find the storage option on your phone blinking read and you are torn about which app to send to the bin, you can throw Instagram under the bus — if all you want to do is stalk, upload, repeat, that is.
