Taapsee Pannu Took A Subtle Dig At Kabir Singh’s Director, Twitter Was Dumb, So She Asked Them To Get Lost

There are two types of people on Twitter – those who go around speaking rubbish and the other who tweet responsibly. It is the only place where people have intelligent conversations and unfortunately, it looks like it has been attacked by trolls also. Taapsee Pannu is not the kind to mince words and we love her for that. The Manmarziyaan and Game Over actress has been slaying it on Twitter with her subtle sarcasm. Recently, when the Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga justified Kabir’s abusive behaviour deeming it as part and parcel of true love, he received major flak from peeps. However, Taapsee’s recent tweet took a jibe at him in the most smooth way possible and we are living for it.

She reacted to the news of a man who smashed his girlfriend’s head because he was suspicious of her “character”. Taapsee, taking a dig at Kabir Singh’s director’s mentality, wrote, “Or maybe let’s just say they were madly in love with each other n this ‘act’ was to validate his TRUE love for her.”

Let’s take a quick recap to the beautiful words that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had actually uttered. So here’s what our eardrums were subjected to: “When you are deeply in love and deeply connected with a woman, and vice versa, there’s a lot of honesty in it. If you don’t have that physical demonstration… you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there.” If after hearing this, some of your brain cells committed suicide, we don’t blame you. If you felt like your jaw dropped a thousand feet in utter dismay, we don’t blame you. That’s exactly how we felt. Clearly, the movie Kabir Singh went ahead and normalised violence in relationships, and worse, the toxic romance between Kabir and Preeti has become a heroic tale of love in India.

Now, if people are voluntarily agreeing with Sandeep’s idea of love, we can’t hold them at gunpoint and change their belief. But what Taapsee did here was rather smart. She took a real life incident, which anyone would consider a legal crime and sarcastically made a point that if we were to abide by the Kabir Singh philosophy of love, this wouldn’t have been a crime. And that makes us so glad that the people who made the constitution of India were nothing like Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

However, let’s just say that the dimwits of Twitter just couldn’t get the satire in Taapsee’s tweet. There go some more brain cells!  A user wrote, “Hope your boyfriend / Husband leaves you, before you validate your “True Love” for him.” Another one went ahead and pulled the God card on her, “I pray to God that this happen to you and your entire family n friends.”

Of course, Taapsee wasn’t going to burn her energy trying to instil some sense into these people. She responded, “People with no sense of sarcasm, kindly ignore me and my tweet. It was nice not knowing you!” Taapsee also tweeted saying, “I hope whoever “schooled” me went to a school where they teach the difference between ‘sarcasm’ and ‘sarcastic humour’.” Waah!
