Taapsee Pannu Revealed That She Wishes To Play An Indian Superhero In Avengers And It Got Us Thinking!
Taapsee Pannu is an actress that can make us want to fall in love with some of her characters she plays in movies. Right from Badla to playing a sharp shooter in Saand Ki Aankh, Taapsee has carved her niche as an impeccable actor who is here to stay. Taapsee Pannu is also opinionated and will not shy away from being vocal about the things that concern her. Be it her movie choices, her spat with Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel, or calling Kabir Singh a misogynistic film, Taapsee Pannu has been making headlines for all the right reasons.

Speaking of making headlines, Taapsee Pannu in a recent interview said she wants to play an Indian superhero in the pantheon of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers films. She revealed that she would want to play an Indian superhero in Avengers and it literally got us thinking on how exciting it would be to see Taapsee nail a role like that. Taapsee said, “I hope I get a chance in my life to be a superhero in Avengers. That’s the only role that I think I’ve not done. I don’t want to replace any character, I want to be an Indian superhero in the Avengers.”
While having a conversation with Rajeev Masand at the 10th Jagran Film Festival, Taapsee Pannu said, “I remember Captain Marvel released along with Badla. After I saw Captain Marvel trailer, I told my sister, ‘Had I done this, it would have been something else.” Well, we would love to see this happen too. I mean…this is something we are all rooting for!
The 31-year-old actor revealed that she is a diehard fan and also has a huge crush on Iron Man, famously played by Robert Downey Jr in the MCU. Now this is something most of us would relate to. When Rajeev Masand pointed out the character, Iron Man was dead in the MCU, she said, “I cried in the theatre. I was so sad.” You cried Taapsee, we didn’t. It was the onions.
When Taapsee was asked on which film she wishes she had been a part of, Taapsee said she would have loved essay in Ayushmann Khurrana’s role in Article 15, which would have made it her second film with director Anubhav Sinha, who helmed Mulk. “I don’t think I have that with female characters. I haven’t felt that if I played a particular female character, the film would turn out differently. But I loved Article 15, I thought I would’ve also done a great job had I done Ayushmann’s role,” she said, earning applause from the audience.

On the professional front, Taapsee Pannu will also be seen in the multi-starrer film, Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh alongside Bhumi Pednekar this year.
