#SpreadPositivity: This Little Girl From Arunachal Pradesh Has A Powerful Message For Us All And We Need To Listen To Her

Most of us are locked away in our homes, safe with our family. We are happy just knowing that neither we nor our loved ones are in any danger. But if PM Modi had not made us clap for the people who have to stay away from their families in order to keep us safe, do you think we would’ve thought about them? I would like to think we would’ve but maybe that is just the optimist in me speaking.

I don’t know if you have realised this but there are doctors and nurses who are doing their jobs despite getting beaten up and harassed, and there are policemen who are intently holding up their postings in super infected areas of our country. They are the real soldiers working day in and day out to keep us safe and I can’t even put into words the kind of gratitude I feel for them.

However, there are some people who are flouting the lockdown laws, questioning their authority and acting out like a bunch of overgrown babies. I have a word for those people- covidiots. Look, I don’t know if you understand just how difficult it is to stand on the roads and ensure our safety is not compromised when there is a deadly virus going about, but stop it. These policemen, doctors, and nurses have not met their families in days, they are under so much stress and instead of helping them, why we hell bent on making their lives harder?

If you still aren’t comprehending what I am trying to tell you’ll, maybe you will listen to this little girl. She is 9 years old and her father is a cop in Arunachal Pradesh. But don’t let her age fool you, she has a rather strong message for us all.

An MP from Arunachal Pradesh Kiren Rijiju shared her picture on Twitter. The picture shows this girl holding a placard that reads, “My dad is a policeman. He stays away from me to help you. Can you please stay at home to help him?”

Along with the picture, Kiren Rijiju wrote “A sweet little girl, daughter of a Policeman in Arunachal Pradesh with an emotional yet powerful message. Let’s appreciate all the Police Personnel and all those who are continuously working in the field for the safety of everyone.”

We really need to acknowledge and tip our hats to the sacrifice and compromise the police force has made for us during these pressing times. They could have just as easily taken a few steps backward and spent this time safely with their families, but they chose to protect us. They deserve medals for their work.

But we really need to hear what this little girl is saying. Her father is out there, and I know how worried I would be if it were my father on the streets right now. So, please for the sake of her family and yours, stay at home for a few days and don’t venture outside.
