Somy Ali Reveals Salman Khan Cheated On Her. That’s Why She Broke Up With Him
Even though we may have seen Salman Khan don different roles in different movies, sometimes an action-hungry protagonist, other times a die-hard romantic, what we know about his private is still rather limited. Despite being linked to several women at several points of time in his life, including actresses like Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif, there has never been confirmation. What we know is that Salman might just be the perennial bachelor of Bollywood and that in his words (however untrue they might be), he is still a virgin.
However, it was during a recent interview with one of his former link-ups that it was revealed that Salman was more than just that, he apparently was a cheater. Somy Ali, former actress and Salman’s ex opened up about her relationship with the actor and shed light on the real reason why the duo broke up.
“It’s been 20 years since I broke up with him. He cheated on me and I broke up with him and left. It’s as simple as that,” said Somy during an interaction with Zoom as she recalled what really went down. For the unversed, Somy Ali was only 16 years old, when she first saw the movie ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘ and made up her mind to fly to India and marry Salman Khan.

Somehow, she managed to come to Mumbai. She then stayed at a hotel until she could find work in the industry and a way to get closer to Salman Khan. Having appeared in almost 10 Hindi movies from 1991 to 1998, that was also the time when Salman fell for her and the two started dating. While Somy had earlier gone on record to share that the two hadn’t spoken in years, she only recently opened up about why that was so.

Apparently, Somy caught her then beau Salman Khan cheating on her, after which she was adamant to break it off. In fact, once Somy had found out about Salman’s infidelity, she decided not to stick around longer and flew back to the United States to resume her studies. Talking about staying in touch, Somy revealed, “No, I haven’t spoken to Salman in many years, and I think that’s the best way to go about things. When people come into our life, we learn from them — what we should do and what we shouldn’t. And there’s a time when you should move on. However, I respect him for his foundation, and I have heard that they do phenomenal work. I did meet his mom, Salma aunty, who is among my favourite people in this world, when she was in Miami two years ago. It was wonderful to catch up with her.”
This isn’t the first time that Somy has talked about Salman’s infidelity either. A couple of years back, Somy had gone ahead and mentioned about Salman Khan cheating on her, and even named the woman in the picture, who according to her actress Aishwarya Rai. She was quoted saying, “They both did what they felt and believed was the right thing to do at that point in time. I don’t like to hold grudges. It will only affect my growth as a person.”
Honestly, seeing how many women in the actor’s life have claimed he was not faithful, we think his decision to be single all his life is rather useful.
