Shruti Hassan Gives The Perfect Reply To Trollers Who Express Hate Over Celebrities Who Do Not Disclose Their Donations. She Is On Point

My mother has always taught me that if we ever do something nice for someone, we should never go back and make a hue and cry about it, because if we do, it takes away the essence of the gesture. And growing up, I have not only understood the meaning behind her words, but also the sentiment that taught me how sometimes its okay to do something nice and not use it to further your reputation. A concept that is alien to almost every one in the entertainment industry though. But we say ‘almost’ here because even though most of the celebrities among us take every opportunity to insinuate how kind and giving they are, there still remain a select few actors and actresses that do their good work in private, Shruti Hassan being one of them.

Recently, during an Instagram live session from her social media handle, the actress sought out to once and for all clarify all the hate that celebrities are often met with in context to making respectable contributions to the society. She said, “There are people who have written in my comment section that why are you playing piano? Go and help the people. First of all, you cannot go down and help the people. If you are expecting me to go down, I can’t do that, we have been asked to stay in our house.”

And that was just the starting. In what seemed like the burst of an honest emotion, Shruti further went on to say, “Second of all most important in life, if you need to flash your charity around so you get other people’s approval, other people’s taali or applause, or just to prove that you are good, none of these are real reasons. If you want to donate you will donate.” And we agree with her there. Not everyone does it for the recognition, and not everyone must be put under such scrutiny for it.

“There are many causes I donate to. But there is no manuscript that says please go and put it on Instagram.” There is no mandate that requires actors and actresses to announce their donations to the world despite the many celebrities who go ahead and do it. Furthermore, clarifying the difference between her father who is a politician and herself, Shruti said, “Specially in politics there are times when people have to announce that we have done this, so people aren’t questioning it. But me as an actor, who genuinely wants to help, I pay for kids education, I know who those kids are, I know what I am doing but I don’t need to tell everyone what I am doing.”

At this point, we weren’t just convinced with what Shruti had to say but also impressed at the way she laid out her principles that didn’t require to boast about the several contributions she was making towards relevant causes. Yes, celebrities have their life laid bare to us fans, but at no point are we entitled to knowing every decision they take and judge them for it. It’s about time we acknowledge that!
