Sara Ali Khan Is Goofy And Quirky And Many Other Things But She Certainly Shouldn’t Become A Poet

Sara Ali Khan Is Goofy And Quirky And Many Other Things But She Certainly Shouldn’t Become A Poet

There is no correct way of describing a mother. Universally, a mother is kind, loving and of course the only person who knows you a little too well. Mums are also all probably where Sir Arthur Conon Doyle got the idea for Sherlock Holmes from. I mean, when it comes to me, my mother can put ACP Pradhyuman (if you don’t get the reference, you have wasted away your childhood) to shame with her investigative skills. Jokes apart, my mother is also one of my closest friends and I could easily fill a book writing about her.

My mother is the one that inculcated a love for literature in me as her father did for her. That is how I know that literature is full of beautiful poems on mothers. From Rabindranath Tagore to Rudyard Kipling, mothers have been a huge influence on so many works. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to compare but Sara Ali Khan’s poem on her mother but let’s just say it isn’t a viable option for Sara. She should stick to Bollywood.

On Sunday, the very talented Sara Ali Khan took to Instagram to write a very heartfelt poem about her mom, Amrita Singh. The poem that was accompanied by a series of pictures of her, Ibrahim and Amrita read, “Mirror mirror- are you mommy or a reflection? The only difference between us- is I always want her attention. She on the other hand is full of love, hugs and affection. And undivided time and energy I sometimes forget to mention. My anchor, my inspiration, the magician that takes away all tension. She has cures for mood swings, hair-fall, dry skin and water retention. Her versatility, commitment, patience, and selflessness is beyond my comprehension. With her around no sadness lasts, no fear persists there can’t be much apprehension- Basically without contention, no need to even mention, mommy is best in every dimension. #amritakibeti #sarakishayari #gotitfrommymama #likemotherlikedaughter #mommyno1.”

Yes, it is all very adorable and relatable. Every mother is loving, kind and possesses all kinds of cures for all your boo-boos. But “Sara the poet”, is funny and cute and hilarious but very basic. Maybe she should just stick to what she knows best- acting – and leave poetry for well, poets. Brownie points for the effort though.

If you have been following Sara closely, then you know that this isn’t the first time she has graced us with her “shayari”. Just last week, when she won a Nickolodeon kids choice award she shared a post with the caption, “You know it’s time to rejoice, When you win an award at #kidschoice Then who needs candy who needs Royce Just put on your dancing shoes and bring your singing voice.”

Now you know why we say that she can have any other career. But she should really keep away from a career that involves stringing words together to form a rhyme. I mean we aren’t the kinds to say don’t reach for the stars, but if it involves a lot of poetry, we suggest that Sara not do it.

We love that the poem reflects the quirky, silly and goofy personality she is known to have. Please keep making us laugh, Sara.

On the work front, Sara is currently shooting for Coolie No 1 with Varun Dhawan.
