Rakul Preet Singh Says Content Is Important, Not The Age Of Her Co-Stars. She Does Have A Point!

There was a time when Bollywood was seen an entirely different industry than the rest of the country. But that’s changing. South Indian movies are getting Hindi remakes – Kabir Sing- and Hindi movies are getting South Indian remakes. It’s only obvious then that the actors also shuffle between languages. Many actors juggle films in Bollywood as well as in the south and one of them is actress Rakul Preet Singh. Rakul Preet starred in Bollywood movie De De Pyaar De where she was cast opposite 50-year-old Ajay Devgn as his love interest. Now Rakul Preet Singh is gearing up for her next south release, Manmadhudu 2 alongside  59-year-old  Nagarjun.

Speaking of both her films, Rakul Preet Singh and her co-stars in these films, she said she’s aware of the huge age difference between her and them. The actress said to The New Indian Expess.com in an interview that working with senior actors isn’t something that’s new in Telugu cinema. Instead she urged the people to change their mindsets towards it and look at it from an entertainment perspective.

The actress was quoted as said, “When I was offered films, opposite senior heroes, I will see that my character had a space that was significant in the film and doesn’t think about the age difference and other aspects.” Rakul Preet Singh is only a film old in  Bollywood and her way obviously has more to do with content than who she’s cast opposite.

Rakul Preet Singh further added, “Instead of playing a character that has been reduced to a caricature in a young actor’s film, why not take up a substantial role alongside a senior hero?” Which makes a whole lot of sense. She’s really committing to her roles. She is going to take special training in belly dancing for her upcoming film, Marjaavaan

On the flick front, after Manmadhudu 2, Rakul has another big release and will be seen in Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s action film Bharateeyudu 2. She will also be seen sharing the screen with her Aiyaary co-star Sidharth Malhotra in Marjaavan which also stars Tara Sutaria and Ritesh Deshmukh.
