Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About How She Dealt With The Feeling Of Being Replaceable. And We All Need To Hear This!
One of the worst feelings in the world is when you offer someone your food and they actually take it. A close second is to realise that no matter what you do, or where you stand in life, you will always stand to be replaceable. Someone, somewhere would always be there to take your place after you, and it is such dispensability that often gets the best out of you. It could be getting traded for another girl in your love life or being dethroned at work by someone younger and less costlier, it is a feeling that never truly escapes you. And it doesn’t change when you get famous as global superstar Priyanka Chopra talked about. She recently opened up about feeling replaceable in the industry.
In a recent interview with the The Sky Is Pink actress she talked about her initial struggles in the film industry. Talking about whether the industry really makes you feel replaceable or not, she shared, “It is not just true to me but of the industry. And not just of the industry, it is the truth of how women are treated around the world. Girls are always devalued. That a girl needs to be four times special or has to prove her mettle four times more than a guy. That is just the norm the world has created in a patriarchal society. It will take our generation of girls to change that for the next generation.”

And we do agree with what the global actress had to say. She further said, “I have been replaced. Yes. Once, a co-actor told me, and once, I read it in the newspaper. I just chose not to be a victim of my circumstances. Of course, I went and cried to my father, why me? But then he told me what are you going to do about it? I just made sure to be excellent in my next film and learn the job well. Even if the film doesn’t do well, I want to make sure that what I do is excellent.” And we have absolutely no doubts about that.
The society and even the industry at that, has a way of making you feel inadequate when it comes down to having things run in a certain way. From breaking prejudices to earning equally as the men in the industry, to changing how people view beauty, Priyanka Chopra has had her share of struggles, and she’s turn the tables around with her impeccable work ethic and commitment.
Raising her bar with every piece of work that PeeCee has picked up in the last few years or choices that she’s made, she’s been unstoppable. Which is why when she talks about giving your best every day that you go to work, it feels like sound advice, because Priyanka Chopra has been doing just that and today, she stands at the top of her game. With her new movie, The Sky Is Pink, lining up for release on 11th October, Priyanka Chopra has exciting things in her kitty and we wouldn’t expect less from an actress of her stature, who has earned her way into the industry, clearly the hard way.
