Harsh as it may sound, our streets, trains… heck, even our beaches and parks are littered with trash, and almost no one gives a rat’s ass about it! Well, we think we may have just found the solution. Plogging is the Swedish fitness craze for people who want to save the planet. The term “plogging” is derived from the word jogging, and “plocka” which is Swedish for “to pick”. It’s very good for the body to combine running with squatting to lift rubbish.
This fitness trend is on point for the people of our country, not just to try out of curiosity, but out of necessity. The beauty of this workout lies in its simplicity, where you just need to wear a pair of gloves and carry a trash bag. Jog around your neighborhood in order to get your heart rate pumping, and pick up trash along the way. In return, you get your squats in for the day too. The more trash you pick up, the more weight you are adding to your workout, hence more calories burnt!
The main objective of plogging is to clean up the sidewalks and roads. But getting a workout in while doing it, doesn’t really hurt, no?
