The queen has officially been dethroned. By whom you ask? Get this, by none other than an egg. No, we aren’t kidding, this isn’t a joke, this is real. Kylie Jenner who had the most number of likes on her post on Instagram, it was a picture of her daughter and garnered about 18 million plus likes. It has now been replaced by a picture of an egg.

A pretty simple, decent, non-fancy looking, humble egg has gathered about 25 million plus likes after it’s picture was posted with the caption, “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this” And they did get it!

What may have started as an ambitious prank has outdone itself with the support of millions of likes on Instagram. Defeat by the world-record breaking egg was not taken all too well by Kylie. In retaliation, she posted a video where we can see her frying an egg on the street, with the caption, “Take that little egg”.

Guess this is what social media wars have come down to…fighting off competitive from innocuous-looking food products. One of the biggest social media face-offs in history, indeed!
