Manisha Koirala Says That The Current Situation Of Coronavirus Reminds Her Of Her Cancer Days. We Love How Spirited Her Attitude Is

For most of us, dealing with this sudden lockdown due to the widespread panic has not been easy. Being flung from a very active, independent and free lifestyle to one with where we have travelled from the couch to the bed and that’s it. So much so that we have forgotten what physically interacting with people even felt like. Not going to lie, it has been a tough couple of days for a lot of us trying to adjust with the change. But one person who seems to have been taking this well enough and says it comes from practice is actress Manisha Koirala who recently talked about how the present situation of quarantining at home reminds her of her cancer days.

The Sanju actress was detected with ovarian cancer back in 2012 and battled it with great courage and optimism. Her journey, that she has shared many time in these couple of years was one with un-flailing hope and a lot of positivity and according to her is quite to similar to what is now happening as people have been locked up in their houses.

In a conversation about the present situation of coronavirus, when the Maska actress was asked about whether she feels prepared to deal with the change, she said, “What I went through during the cancer treatment has given me the courage to deal with the present situation. I am focusing on just today, not tomorrow, not day after or when the lockdown will be over. I was just smiling to myself and thinking that it’s just how the situation repeats itself. Though in cancer, I was living with the fear psychosis for a longer time. We didn’t know if the treatment was working for about 4 to 6 months and then there was a waiting period for three years to feel safe which was way longer than this. But the lockdown did remind me of those days. ”

And we can see why she would draw similarities between the two seemingly distinct experiences. Taking even this present situation of an indefinite lockdown in her stride, Manisha went on to talk about how after one has to wait for three years to find out if they are fully cured of cancer, spending a few months in isolation currently doesn’t feel like a long time at all.

She further said, “When the lockdown was announced I had some anxiety because I was working till early March and it’s not just me. I have elderly parents with me and that was a huge concern. But I spoke to a few friends, who are doctors, and they advised that I should stop looking at these WhatsApp messages. ” A piece of advice that we’d like to extend to everyone too.

Listening to the veteran and brilliant actress talk about how we must never take things for granted and deal with this chaos in an optimistic and patient manner, considering people have faced worse, we were reminded of how it isn’t all too bad, after all. Manisha Koirala is quarantining at home with her family and engaging herself by watching movies on end and looking at the sunny side and we all should.
