Man Writes Love Messages For His Girlfriend On The Main Road Of Their Village For 2.5 Km

After numerous relationships, I have learned that grand gestures don’t mean a thing if the smaller gestures aren’t in place. For instance, if you don’t give me enough time, attention and don’t communicate effectively, not even a yacht filled with a thousand roses is going to make our relationship work. However, pop culture and various romantic comedies dictate differently. In movies and shows, it’s all about lighting up the Eiffel Tower or stealing a blue french horn (any HIMYM fans in the house?). Hell, Indians think the grandest gesture a man can do is write your name on a monument or at some random lovers point with a heart around it. Ugh. If I had a penny for every time I’ve seen one of those, I’d be pretty well to do. Following in the same footsteps, this unknown man from Maharashtra expressed his feelings to his girlfriend, we assume, by writing messages for her on a 2.5 km stretch of the main road of their village. What do you think? Romantic or cringy? I’d have to go with the latter.

It seems like this unidentified man from Dharangutti village in Shirol Tehsil, Kolhapur ran out of ideas for a romantic gesture. So he decided to write ‘I Love You’ and ‘I Miss You’ for 2.5 km on the main road of the village for his girlfriend. One of the messages painted on the street also read, “I miss you. Zindagi ke saath, zindagi ke baad bhi”. Erm, why does he think life insurance policies are romantic? What is going on here? I think we’re missing something.

According to reports, the messages were written in white oil paint. They were painted on the Jaisinghpur to Dharangutti route for about 2.5 km. This ‘romantic’ incident was reported on Tuesday when locals woke up to this epic gesture. Exactly how does no one know who is behind this? I mean, that man painted messages for 2.5 km, how did not one person see him? It’s very suspicious.

A video of that stretch of the main road has gone viral and even though we don’t know for sure the intended target has seen these signs, one can safely assume that his girlfriend has. Also, why couldn’t this man just pick up the phone and call the girl he loves and misses? It’s an underrated but effective method. Local authorities have sent people over to investigate the matter.

We should really raise the bar on grand romantic gestures.
