Mahie Gill Revealed She Is A Mother. We Totally Understand Why She Hid This. And Nope, She’s Not Married

If you ask my friends to describe me, they would’ve a few adjectives. Ask my my colleagues what they think of me, and literally nothing will match what my friends said. It would be an elementary but perfectly acceptable mistake; you’d think they are talking about two different persons altogether. That’s because there is a certain side to me, that’s reserved for the people I am closest to, the ones I can let my hair down with without the fear of judgement or snide remarks. And luckily, in my line of work, maintaining that distance comes easy. But it’s not easy to maintain privacy when you are a celebrity and your life sometimes feels like a free for all. The thin line between professional and personal, is difficult to tread on, but Mahie Gill seems to have done a fabulous job keeping them separate. Especially because feel entitled to details about your life.

In a recent interview with Navbharat Times, Mahie Gill revealed not only that she is a mother, but also that her daughter will turn 3 this August. She said, “I am very proud that I am the mother of a daughter. Yes, I have not been married yet, when I want to marry, I will do it. In August this year, my child will be three years old.” This left quite a few people stunned, and people like us – impressed, with her being able to pull off something this big and still keep this under wraps.

When asked more about her being a mother, Mahie talked about how she never chose to reveal that she is a mother earlier because she was never really asked this question, specifically, at least. A smooth move, that. But we don’t really blame her. When you’re in the public eye, every minute detail about your life, however significant or trivial, is up for grabs to make a saucy story out of. So she did what any loving and caring mother would do, protect her child and her identity, so she doesn’t become the subject of unfair and unnecessary criticism.

This reminds us about numerous other times, when actors had to hide important things about their personal life, all because they were scared how the media or people would react. Case in point, Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor. Mahie also shared that she isn’t single and that stood by her decision of keeping this to herself. You know, as she is entitled to, and we stand in support. It’s time we as fans, learn to appreciate boundaries.

She went on to further talk about the concept of marriage, as she said, “What is the need for marriage? It all depends on their own thinking and time. Families and children can be made without marriage. There should be no problem with having children without marriage, I do not think there is a problem. I think everyone has their own life, everyone has their own principles. Marriage is a beautiful thing, but getting married or not is a personal choice.”

The actress is currently shooting Family of Thakurgunj, alongside Saurabh Shukla, Jimmy Shergill that is set to hit the screens on July 19.
