Lilly Singh Getting Her Own Late Night Show Is A Series Of Firsts. We Love Everything It Stands For

In 2017, YouTube sensation and #GirlBoss, Lilly Singh authored and released a book called How To Be A Bawse, and two years later she still continues to show us how it’s done. The Canadian Youtube creator of Indian descent, who started to woo her followers hilarious, realistic, and absolutely entertaining content has created history after becoming the first woman to bag the first Late Night Show on a network like NBC. A Little Late with Lilly Singh, her show that is all set to come out with its first episode, has us all excited and we can’t wait to see what she serves up because we are pretty sure it’s going to be delicious.

Seems like the OG Superwoman has a fan following that goes worldwide and breaks all sorts of barriers, just like her original content. The woman, who is particularly known to slay and not hold back when it comes to smashing stereotypes is going to premiere her first episode with actress Mindy Kaling. I mean, colour is looking good on TV. #MelaninRepresent  Turns out, among the millions that follow her every move, is the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who too took to Twitter to wish Lilly luck for her exciting endeavour. And we don’t know about Lilly, but we definitely cannot keep calm.

He wrote in his tweet, “Good luck tonight, @Lilly! We’ll be watching from north of the border.” And honestly, had Trudeau wished us like that, we’d have our hearts in our hands right now. But obviously Lilly Singh earned that kind of fame and respect and probably happens to be able to have some sort of ability to dial it down. Among her other fans is industrialist Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra Group who also took to twitter to reply to Justin’s tweet, wishing her all the best. He wrote, “And I’ll be staying up late in NYC as well @JustinTrudeau to watch @Lilly tonight. Yes, she’s Canadian, but of Indian origin, so we claim one half of her. Chak de, Lilly! ”

From believing in herself from her very first video, to not bowing down to the society’s definition of right or wrong, Lilly Singh has always been a flag bearer of positivity and feminism and we laud her for that. Especially when we see her making news all across the globe, with these renowned men as her avid fans, reminding us of just how much power and influence us women hold in the world. Being the first woman and that too, first woman of colour to have achieved this feat, Lilly Singh knows how to give the world its ‘firsts’.

Even the very trailer song she recently released for her show with NBC, had the internet going crazy over how savage and on-point the lyrics for it were, where she champions feminism and takes pride in everything from her gender to her sexuality to her very incredible talent. Safe to say, Superwoman has got us hooked with yet another one of her gigs and we can’t wait to see how her show turns out to be!
