Kriti Sanon Called Priyanka Chopra Her Girl Crush. Move Over Cat Fights, Sisterhood Is Here!

Kriti Sanon Called Priyanka Chopra Her Girl Crush. Move Over Cat Fights, Sisterhood Is Here!

If you have grown up enjoying the cat fights between Bollywood actresses, then I am sorry to say, you’ll have to find a different source of entertainment. Back in the Ajnabee days, Bipasha spoke about how Kareena called her “uncharitable names” (kaali billi we heard!) and Kareena retaliated, “her only claim to fame is that she fought with me during Ajnabee.” TBH, I find this extremely amusing. We’re all guilty of being super-duper interested in cat fights, but then I get reminded of a purpose bigger than my two minutes of amusement – promoting sisterhood. Women need to stand with and for each other and not against. Cat fights arise from jealousy, and you know what else comes from jealousy? Pulling people down. But thankfully, Bollywood cat fights are a thing of the past. Actresses are bonding and supporting each other, without being insecure at all.

Now the reason I am talking about all this is because recently when Kriti Sanon went to New York for New York Fashion Week, she caught up with Priyanka Chopra for an impromptu dinner. She even took to Instagram to talk about how amazing it was and called PeeCee her “GirlCrush”.  Kriti wrote: “Impromptu plans are the best!! It was so lovely meeting u last night @priyankachopra !! GirlCrush @natasha.poonawalla good to seeya in a different city this time, @rohiniyer this trip has been fab..! To many more (sic).” If this was the 2000s, Priyanka and Kriti wouldn’t have met. But look at these two – Priyanka making time for a spontaneous dinner for Kriti and Kriti talking about how much she adores her! Catty banter is left in the past; it’s all warmth from here on.

In fact, the gen next of Bollywood has already mastered the art of sisterhood, I feel. Even though the media keeps pitting Sara Ali Khan, Jahnvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday against each other, Sara spoke about how she doesn’t see them as rivals at all. “I don’t think we need to treat each other as rivals, but as friends that we already are. Competition in any field keeps you on your toes; it’s a healthy vibe where we can all coexist.” You go girl!

Tara Sutaria, too agrees with the fact that cat fight days are long gone. “I was raised with a twin sister. I have never understood this whole concept of pitting women against each other. It’s almost 2020! Everyone needs to really get over the fact that a woman has to contend against another woman. It should be a myth by now,” she said.

In fact, recently when Zareen Khan got trolled for having putting up a post that revealed her stretch marks, Anushka stood up for. She wrote: “Zareen, you’re beautiful and brave and strong and perfect just the way you are. #lookbeyondthebody #appreciationpost” I think it’s high time, we learn from these celebrities and get some sisterhood into our lives as well!

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra’s The Sky Is Pink’s trailer recently hit the web. It’s slated to release on October 11. Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, will be next seen in Paanipat.
