Katrina Kaif’s Advice On Dealing With An Ex Is Something We Could All Use

When it comes to heartbreaks, people react to it in two ways. There are some who will lose the plot, the ones that we’ve to physically hold back from punching their ex and who use the choicest abuses for their exes. And then there are some folks who believe in keeping no hard feelings. Who rise above the pettiness and fights and can be cordial. That’s definitely not us. But Katrina Kaif definitely falls in the latter category!

Katrina, while not a chirpy social butterfly, is certainly cordial and has more friends than enemies in the fraternity. She has even managed to stay friends her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor who is currently dating her good friend Alia Bhatt. Though we expected a new cold war to erupt in Bollywood, the gracious actress has surprised us with how she manages to be cordial and friendly with them.

Recently, in an interview with DNA when she was asked how she manages to be the bigger person, she responded in the most mature way, “I will tell you something important. A certain thing is already playing out in a certain manner. My reaction to it makes no difference. I can sit here and feel anger and bitterness. I can make myself unhappy. Or I can take into consideration that, how miserable I am makes no difference to anyone else. So, instead, I can lighten my own burden and say — let me be happy and at peace. And what is meant for me, will come my way.”

Katrina inspires us, to say the least! Also, makes us majorly rethink our very dramatic messages. We love how she has handled her breakup, and this is kind of worse, that her ex is now dating her friend! That can be painful for anyone. Healing and happiness should be more important and Katrina is giving that priority.

While we always see celebrities as aspirational, as people way different than us, she proves she is one of us! And though she makes it look effortless, it couldn’t possibly be. She opens up about her feelings, “I’m not some extra-terrestrial being. I do go through my own share of pain and angst. But I see no point in holding a grudge.” Katrina Kaif clearly isn’t indifferent towards the situation, but she doesn’t let it get the best of her.

At the end, Katrina Kaif comes off looking like the better person. She says, “I don’t think anyone is out there to hurt me. People are trying to do the best for you. But, sometimes, in trying to do the best for you, you get hurt. Too bad. However, I would rather have a friend than an enemy.”

Life is too short to hold a grudge, especially against people you once loved, right? We think it’s completely awesome to be cordial with your ex. At the risk of stating the obvious, you only heal when you forgive!
