Kareena Kapoor’s Diet Secrets Will Remind You Of What Your Mother Has Been Saying All Along!

Kareena Kapoor’s Diet Secrets Will Remind You Of What Your Mother Has Been Saying All Along!

I was raised in a Punjabi family, which meant that my mothers’ concern over whether or not I have eaten took precedence over everything else. That is the one question I could never dodge, and if the answer happened to be that I’d eaten from outside, I was treated to an earful of taunts and names being called to the junk I liked to call food.

To this date, if I ever want to go on a diet, I would rather order expensive Keto salads, than listen to my mother when she said home-cooked food is all you need to take care of the weight. After all, keto is trending right? Except, turns out we may be underestimating home-cooked meals after all, as shared by Kareena Kapoor Khan in a recent live session she conducted with nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar.

The Tashan actress, who’s been eye-candy over the years – from when she was size zero to when she was pregnant with Taimur, talked about how she and husband Saif Ali Khan never skip rice in their meals and swear by it. Her comfort food is actually khichdi, and when she was probed with questions about her diet, she said she believes in home-cooked food more than the fad diets. She also suggested opting for locally sourced products as opposed to anything else.

Even when Kareena was a size zero, she relied heavily on the local food  where she was shooting, and ended up eating a lot of momos and thupka. She carefully shed light upon how, as a mother, it is important to listen to the needs of your body, and lose the post-partum weight holistically instead of limiting it to kilos and time.

Apart from taking her gym routine very seriously, the actress indulges in organic, conscious and home-cooked foods, adding that foods like mangoes (her favourite), dahi chawal, kokum drinks and even nimbu pani, are good sources to keep you hydrated and infused with essential proteins.

Guess mommy dearest had been right all along, but we just wanted to hear it from Bebo instead!
