Kanika Kapoor Volunteers To Donate Her Plasma For The Treatment Of Other Patients With Covid-19. We Think It Is A Great Gesture.
Back when the news about coronavirus had just started to make rounds and the panic along with the gravity of the situation was still sinking in, there were quite a few laid back individuals, who despite being the educated, ended up making mistakes that almost cost them their lives, and posed a serious threat to the lives of others. One such person in India, was the famous ‘Baby doll’ singer, Kanika Kapoor, who was one of the first ones in the industry to be detected with Coronavirus when she landed back from London, and in a very tone-deaf mood, she decided to go out partying, right after.
Kanika Kapoor was admitted to the hospital and others who came into contact with her during the time were all put under quarantine and the nation realised just how dangerous our own lack of seriousness can be. And after being treated for weeks on end, failing 5 tests only to finally test negative for Covid-19 in the sixth time, was she discharged for recovery at home.
And while, initially the singer received a lot of hate for callous attitude that put so many others at risk, the singer who is now recovered, seems to have made an effort to redeem herself in the situation. Offering to donate her plasma for the better treatment of other Covid-19 patients, seems like Kanika Kapoor has taken a step up in helping us fight this virus.

It is being said that the singer called the head of the transfusion medicine department, Prof. Tulika Chandra, to share how she would like to volunteer and donate her plasma for help. Tulika Chandra said, “Singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday expressed her desire to KGMU doctors to donate plasma. After this, she was called and her blood sample was taken for testing. If everything is found appropriate in the report (of the blood test), she will be called on Monday evening or Tuesday to donate her plasma.”
She further mentioned how, “Singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday expressed her desire to KGMU doctors to donate plasma. After this, she was called and her blood sample was taken for testing. If everything is found appropriate in the report (of the blood test), she will be called on Monday evening or Tuesday to donate her plasma.”
However, before Kanika Kapoor is in a position to donate, she will be tested in a lot of other medical aspects such as her haemoglobin level that should be above 12.5, weight should be more than 50 kg and the patient should not have diabetes, cardiovascular issues, malaria, syphilis and other ailments. We are yet to find out whether she will qualify as a donor or not, but even then the singer’s move is to be lauded because she’s finally being being considerate.
