The Last Scene In The Kalank Trailer Reminded Of DDLJ But This One Is Served With A Twist

There are a few things in life that I desperately wait for. My online shopping orders, food delivery, the final season of Game of Thrones final season and of course, the trailers of the most aggressively and well-advertised upcoming movies, because let’s face it, there is no escaping the promotions. As we waited with bated breath for the trailer of Kalank to release, we caught up on the looks the ladies wore to the release and boy, we were impressed. Back to the trailer though.

We were glued to Youtube and were, potentially one of the first persons to watch it. And all throughout the trailer, we played a game of ‘who can you spot?’. We saw a Kunal Khemu make an appearance, Kiara Advani was there for full second or something and then at some point, Kriti Sanon was also there but we blinked so we can’t be entirely sure.

Games done, we moved on to what the trailer actually said, but it was just, well, a very grandeur-filled lesson on infidelity. That is, till we got to the last scene. Now this was a scene that stayed with us. Mainly because you know, you just know, that is a throwback to the entirely crazy famous DDLJ scene. It was so eerily similar, we waited for Amrish Puri.

The entire slow motion sequence with Zafar running towards Roop in a moving train in midst of a chaotic railway station gave us full feels. But this time, instead of a spoilsport Babuji, we have a very supportive and rather sweet Dev helping his own wife  get her lover on board. Unconventional to say the least.  And it is certainly a saucier take on Simran running towards Raj at the end of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. We can clearly go ahead and expect a lot of twists, turns and certain ‘first’s from this one without a shadow of a doubt.
