In An Attempt To Get More Unique Photographs, Pre-Wedding Photoshoots Are Getting Dangerous.

Pre-wedding photoshoots have been around forever and we have seen couples going too far to get that perfect shot. And while most of the times it’s completely harmless and a tad too cheesy, sometimes these pre-wedding photoshoots can take a nasty turn. And when I say that, I don’t mean the pictures turn out bad or the photographer forgets to replace the battery in the camera. Sometimes, these photoshoots can be fatal and unfortunately, I am not exaggerating. This couple from Mysuru drowned as the coracle in which they were sitting, capsized, during a pre-wedding photoshoot in River Cauvery.

The deceased couple, identified as Shashikala and Chandru, Kyathamaranahlli residents in Mysuru city, had just got engaged last week. Their wedding date was set on November 22nd. This is just so sad but also proof that pre-wedding photoshoots are becoming exceedingly dangerous as couples try to get pictures in very dicey locations.

According to reports, Shashikala and Chandru had decided to do a pre-wedding photoshoot in front of Mysuru Palace, Mudukuthore temple and Talakadu. Once they completed finished the shoot outside the palace they headed towards Talakadu, where they wanted a photoshoot in a boat. As the couple could not find a boat, they decided to use a coracle instead. They were sitting in a coracle along with a fisherman. The coracle moved a little distance and the couple began posing for their photos when, out of nowhere, the coracle capsized due to imbalance.

The police said that the fisherman swam to safety while the couple perished in the accident. Their bodies were retrieved by Fire and Emergency personnel after 3 or 4 hours.

This is extremely scary and a warning to all the couples who are looking for out-of-the-box ideas for their wedding photoshoots. Of course, sitting in a coracle in the middle of a river would make for some brilliant photographs but it comes with a huge risk. Couples are trying to look for unique ways to capture photographs, and sometimes, those “unique” ways are also perilous. Wedding photoshoots are supposed to convey your story as a couple, keep it simple. People are going too far

This incident reminds me of yet, very similar, pre-wedding photoshoot debacle that took place at Laguna Beach in California. The couple were clicking pictures on the coastal rocks when a huge wave hit and they were swept off into the Pacific Ocean. They were rescued by lifeguards but that doesn’t mean clicking pictures on the rocks by the Pacific Ocean is a good idea. On the contrary, actually, it’s extremely dangerous.

However, death and injuries are not the only way a unique pre-wedding photoshoot goes horribly wrong. Prejudice and judgement have the same effect. I am talking about how this Kerala couple’s photoshoot had gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Rishi Karthikeyan and his wife Lakshmi faced so much flak because their photoshoot showed them wrapped in a white sheet being intimate. Lakshmi was slut-shamed for showing her legs and the couple was asked to take down the pictures because of the “nudity”. I don’t see why people were so riled up by those pictures because to me, they looked like a couple madly in love and what’s wrong with that? People judging and shaming is yet another reason OTT photoshoots are becoming dangerous.

Maybe these couples should just stick to pushing each other on the swings while in the middle of an orchard? It’s cheesy AF but who was ever harmed by too many flowers? The thing is, couples are going too far to get that perfect but unique shot and it’s extremely dangerous.
