How To Get Rid Of Cellulite!

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite!

I’m sure you have heard of cellulite before. And it’s the bane of most women making an appearance in the most unflattering places and being rather stubborn about leaving. If you aren’t entirely sure what it is, then allow us to explain.  It is the uneven, lumpy skin which is commonly found on your hips, thighs, or butt that looks like orange peel or cottage cheese. Yes, real sexy.  Don’t worry, it’s pretty common and even Kim Kardashian cannot hide it.

Cellulite can become more visible as you age when your skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity. People of all body types and weights can get cellulite but it is more often found on women compared to men.  Where do we protest against this injustice? It is usually caused by the buildup of fat under the skin caused by a poor diet, an unhealthy lifestyle, genes, weight gain, pregnancy, hormones or lack of physical activity. It can also be based on your genes, body fat percentage, and age. You have to work extra hard to banish cellulite but you can choose to what extent you want to go with it, whether it is a medical procedure, topical ointments, or a change in your lifestyle.

Medical treatments are very common in order to zap cellulite. You can consult with a doctor or dermatologist to see if it can work with your problem areas. We strongly recommend getting sound medical advice before you embark on a medical treatment for cellulite. Once it’s confirmed that you can do it, here are the several medical treatments at your disposal. They are costly, be warned but effective in getting rid of these unwanted gift of nature:

  1. Cryolipolysis: A procedure in which the cellulite is removed by freezing the fat cells beneath the skin.
  2. Ultrasound: This is where sound waves are used to target and eliminate fat in the abdomen and thighs.
  3. Cellfina: Here, a needle is used to break up the tough bands under the skin to get rid of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks.
  4. Acoustic Wave Therapy: This works by vibrating the connective tissue in areas of the body that are prone to cellulite.
  5. Cellulaze:  This is a type of laser treatment that breaks up the tough bands under the skin thereby making cellulite less visible.
  6. Vacuum-assisted Precise Tissue Release: In this procedure, a device containing small blades  breaks up the tough bands under the skin . The bands are cut, which allows the tissue to move upward to fill in the dimpled skin. Sounds a little ouch-y.
  7. Carboxytherapy: This is when a technician inserts carbon dioxide just beneath the skin to increase blood flow to the area.
  8. Microdermabrasion: This procedure uses aluminum oxide or salt crystals to exfoliate the skin to stimulate new skin cells.

  1. Exercising regularly can help you reduce body fat and make the cellulite less noticeable. It will tone and define your muscles which will make your body look smoother and even.
  2. Simulate your blood flow and remove dead skin cells by dry brushing.
  3. Smooth out your skin by exfoliating with a loofah or a body brush.
  4. You can even generate new cell growth by exfoliating with coffee grounds mixed with coconut oil. It will reduce bumpiness and make your skin look smooth and even.
  5. Having a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water is great for weight loss, and you can apply it on your skin as well.
  6. Reduce processed and high-sugar foods in order to maintain a healthy weight.
  7. Water flushes out all the toxins from your body that can cause cellulite, so make sure to have at least 8 glasses of water each day.
  8. Topical treatments help reduce the visibility of cellulite but the effects may not last a long time. It will make the skin appear smooth and temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite.
