Gwyneth Paltrow Is Auctioning Off Her Oscar Dress To Help Raise Money For The COVID 19 Crisis. We Should All Help Out

Here’s the thing, we have no right to complain about being locked up in the house all the time when there are hundreds of people who are struggling to put together one decent meal a day. It’s times like this that we need to be unbelievably grateful and help anyone who isn’t as well off as us, as much as we can. Even if it’s something as simple as buying vegetables for a family or just distributing rice, it can make a difference.

This isn’t a problem that only India is fighting, every single country that has been affected with coronavirus is struggling to feed and take care of their poor. Hundreds of NGOs around the world are trying their hardest to raise enough money to help the economically-challenged tide through. Even celebrities have come on the forefront to donate money and encourage others to do the same.

Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow decided to take up the #AllInChallenge. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a challenge wherein celebrities auction off things like their memorabilia and mementoes and all the proceeds from the auction go to food organisations like No Kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels. So far, this challenge has raised more than 10 million dollars.

It’s amazing, right? Adding to that whopping amount, Gwyneth Paltrow has decided to auction off the dress that she wore to the Oscars in the year 2000. It’s a silver hand-beaded Calvin Klein dress and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

In the video that Gwyenth posted to announce that she would be participating in the challenge she said, “It’s very end of the 90s, which is back in style now so I thought it would be a good one to donate.”

In the same video, she says that whoever is the highest bidder can come and collect the dress from her personally over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. She also mentions the website through which one can bid on her dress and over 90 other items auctioned by other celebrities.

The latest bid on Gwyneth Paltrow’s dress is $6,250 (roughly Rs 4,81,253). Though I have a small feeling this going to sell for much more.

This #Allinchallenge is a great initiative to help feed the people who are most affected by this crisis. We all know that the USA isn’t doing too well right now which is why it’s so nice to see celebrities coming out to help others.

Just reading about how they are raising money to feed people made me want to help out more. Obviously, I can’t donate my clothes (largely because I don’t think anyone wants my jeans and sweatshirts) but I will try and do something. Even if it is something as simple as buying vegetables for someone in need.

You should try and help someone out too. Even if it is only one person, it really counts.
