Google Doodle Celebrated Women’s Day In A Super Inspiring Way And We’re Here For It

The thing with Women’s Day is that though we love most of the things about it, there’s also brands jumping on to wish us and give us random discounts on food, vegetables and even tissue paper. Of course, then we get inundated with articles about powerful women and empowering women and it’s all starting to get a little dated.

So when I fired up my laptop this morning and landed on Google, I didn’t expect much. But it’s pretty cool how Google has decided to celebrate International Women’s Day this year.

It’s bright, colourful and actually inspiring. They took powerful quotes from women around the world, put them on a lovely background, animated and gave us something we would want to look at for a long, long time. For example, Frida Kahlo’s quote says, ‘Feet, what do I need them for if I have wings to fly?’

Each of the quotes are written in their own language, a translation given on the side. On a day when we are finding too many empty gestures, this one made us all warm and fuzzy inside.
