Genelia D’souza Said That Riteish Deshmukh Has Been Encouraging Her To Get Back To Work. This Is The Kind Of Support Everyone Needs
When Indian Matchmaking released, it gave rise to various conversations. But the first thing that crossed my mind after I binge-watched it was what my list of preferences would be. Unlike Aparna, the very first thing on my list is a good sense of humour and then there is well educated, good family, well-groomed etc. However, the most important thing is how much he can support me and my ambitions. I think it’s essential and that is why when Genelia D’souza said that her husband, Riteish Deshmukh, pushes her to achieve her dreams, it made me so happy!
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Genelia was talking about her relationship with Riteish and what kind of a spouse he is. Of course, the two of them have always been an adored Bollywood couple but listening to her talk about him really gave us the feels.
She was asked whether he is a supportive partner to which Genelia said that after she became a mother, he has been after her to get back to work. She said, “ I never had to tell him to do anything. I never had to demand it. in fact, he was the one after me to get back to work for the last 2 years, he would tell me why am I wasting my talent, he told me that when I am busy, he will take off and visa versa. It is an understanding.”

Further adding Genelia D’souza said “I think when you have that kind of support you feel at ease and don’t feel the burden. I am actually very happy being a homemaker. I don’t feel burdened by it. There was a time when all I wanted was to be a homemaker, and that is not a bad thing. I think it is double the work than when we go out for work. But yes, now I am ready to be back.”
You know, when I read this, I was actually surprised that Riteish Deshmukh is such a supportive spouse. I mean, his words about his wife’s career tell a very different story. How many of you’ll remember his remark about being butt hurt when someone in the southern states called him “Genelia’s husband”? That day his fragile male ego was on full display. But now we have the other side of the story and we are glad he is such a supportive partner to Genelia Dsouza.
I really hope my future bae is taking notes on how to be supportive.
