Frustrated With Her Mother In Law’s Taunts, This Woman From Patna Stabbed Her Multiple Times And Gouged Her Eye Out

However, every now and then, we come across an incident of extreme violence against a woman that has been inflicted upon her by another woman. Like this incident where a woman stabbed her mother-in-law and gouged her eye out after getting extremely frustrated by the incessant taunts. It’s extremely disturbing.
This shocking incident took place in Parsa Bazaar village, Bihar, on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, the woman identified as Lalita Devi, stabbed her mother-in-law, Dharmashila Devi, multiple times in the head. If that wasn’t enough, she also proceeded to gouge her MIL’s eye out.
After murdering her mother-in-law, Lalita Devi tried to commit suicide by self-immolation. However, she was unsuccessful as she was stopped by other villagers who found out about the incident. Lalita Devi is currently being treated at Patna Medical College and Hospital for the 40% burns that she sustained.

The husband of the victim and her son were not at home at the time of the crime. However, once they found out about the incident, Ram Kumar, the deceased’s husband, lodged an FIR against his daughter-in-law. The police found Dharmashila Devi lying in a pool of blood with one eye gouged out. Upon further investigation, they found a blood-stained knife and an eye at the scene of the crime.
According to various reports, Lalita Devi took this drastic step after being frustrated by her mother-in-law’s continuous taunts. Apparently, she wasn’t being able to conceive and that is why her mother-in-law was giving her a hard time. The incessant jibes from her pushed Lalita over the edge and hence she took these violent measures. Needless to say, her actions were disturbing and shameful.
